Lean Procurement will increase the
value and profits of your business

Let Lean Procurement help you effectively
manage your material and service supply from our
consultancy and training services

In an ever-increasing competitive marketplace more companies are turning to their supply chain function to add value through purchasing behaviour, cost control, supply chain awareness and risk management activities. In order to maintain competitive advantage the supply chain function must demonstrate smart practice, by gaining essential accredited learning and then applying this directly back into the workplace.

Lean Procurement offers professional consultancy and training services in Aberdeen. Established in 2016 Lean Procurement is the first CIPS approved study in the area in over ten years. Delivered at our site in central Aberdeen or on location, our team offers the CIPS diploma, advanced diploma and professional diploma stages to individuals and organisations looking to progress their procurement expertise with professionally accredited qualifications.

Funding is available from the Skills Development Scotland for employees and contractors that have been made redundant from
the Oil and Gas Industry. Lean Procurement have successfully supported a number of students to fund their CIPS studies.

What We Do

This smart practice and essential accredited learning can be brought into the workplace from a
number of channels; depending on cost, size and objectives.

Consultancy and Supply Chain Solutions
Ideal option if a complete review of internal and external Supply Chain activities are needed;  covering the existing ‘as is’ working practices through to scoping areas of added value and establishing the changes into the organisation for maximum returns.

Activities include:
Complete procurement process value analysis   •   Identifying spend reduction opportunities from spend analysis
Initiation and completion of sourcing projects   •   Proactive negotiation with suppliers   •   Contract drafting
Embedding changes in company procedures and policies   •   Continuous improvement and sustainability in the Supply Chain

If the skills of the personnel carrying out Procurement and Supply Chain activities need to be improved upon to achieve the company’s value goals, then training will be the selected option.  Ranging from personnel carrying out these activities as part of their other job right through to large Procurement departments, the competences required remain the same. Training is delivered either through the CIPS Graduate Diploma programme or customised modules developed around the needs of the company. Please refer to 'The Top Ten common areas of untrained Procurement and Supply Chain personnel within an organisation' for more information.

Training benefits for Individuals
On completion of the CIPS qualification and gaining MCIPS status the graduate can expect:
A 22% increase in salary compared to non-MCIPS members   •   More opportunities in transferring and working in different sectors
To become more attractive in a competitive employee marketplace   •  A higher level of career progression and promotion

However, even starting on your journey to MCIPS the above can still apply!

I have found the classes very helpful with a good understanding and confidence to sit the exams. I highly recommend these CIPS classes when studying towards the qualifications.
— Cherie Elmegirab – Independent
CIPS is a fantastic opportunity for anyone within the supply chain department in any given field of work. The knowledge learnt will enhance your understanding of the wider picture and allow you to fully understand your own role deeply.
— Jane-Marie Christie – Score Group Plc, Peterhead
I found the tutor very knowledgeable about the profession and the oil industry. He was always willing to discuss any topic, offer advise whether during the class or “out of office” hours. I found it was very helpful to meet other professionals from different companies and industries.
— Katie Rettie – Oceaneering International Inc, Plc, Aberdeen
Having Lean Procurement Ltd involved in our business for 6 months brought a number of benefits for CETCO, the main ones being a long overdue review of our procurement spending and putting strategies in place for the key, newly categorised commodities, to help leverage our buying power and help maintain margins in light of difficult market trading conditions. I have no hesitation in recommending Lean Procurement for similar activities in any business, whether it’s in oilfield services or any other company involved in supply chain activities.
— - Mark Graham, GM, CETCO Energy Services Limited
I have found Colin classes very useful and helpful. Colin is very organised and thoughtful in the way that he provided me with marked work, feedback on my homework, class discussions and valuable advise for exams preparation. I recommend these classes with Colin to anyone thinking of studying towards CIPS qualifications.
— Maria Fatima Almeida (Indepdendant)
As an adult learner who has been away from studying for several years I found the support offered by Colin and the other students in the group to be invaluable.
